Special features of the sale of starter batteries to commercial customers

All batteries offered by us are prefilled and immediately ready for installation. Batteries whose article number ends with MM are Magneti Marelli batteries.

When buying batteries, please note that they can only be shipped as dangerous goods via night shipping.

Special features when selling starter batteries to end users

In connection with the distribution of vehicle batteries to end users, the distributor is also obliged to charge a deposit of EUR 7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery in accordance with § 10 BattG if the end user does not return a used vehicle battery at the time of purchase of a new vehicle battery. The battery prices include the legally required battery deposit of 7.50 Euro (incl. 19% VAT) for starter batteries.

If the end user returns a used vehicle battery to the distributor, which the distributor carries or has carried as a new battery in its product range according to § 9 BattG, the distributor is obliged to take it back free of charge and refund the deposit amount within the framework of the legal regulations.

A return of the old battery by mail is not permitted due to the hazardous goods ordinance.

Old vehicle batteries can alternatively be handed in free of charge at reusable material and recycling centres. The deposit charged by the distributor will not be refunded by the public recycling and reusable material yards. However, you have the possibility to get a receipt for the return of the used vehicle battery. Upon presentation of this certificate of recycling, the battery deposit will be refunded by the distributor.

Notes on battery disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or with the delivery of devices containing batteries, the supplier is obliged to inform the customer about the following:

The customer is legally obliged to return used batteries as end user. He can return old batteries, which the offerer leads or has led as new batteries in the assortment, free of charge at the dispatch camp (dispatch address) of the offerer. The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning: The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that the battery must not be disposed of in the household waste.

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead

Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium

Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent of mercury
